Our team specializes in immigration evaluations and support, alcohol/drug evaluations, and on-going treatment for trauma, depression, and anxiety.
This practice was started with the hope of helping each individual as well as families to live the life they desire. We are all facing unique challenges in our circumstances and my goal is to provide support and treatment necessary to assist you in achieving your dream of the life you desire.

Jamie L. Kaipust, MSW, LCSW, LIMHP
Jamie Kaipust is the Owner and CEO of A Desired Life Therapy and Counseling which she first established in 2012. She holds Bachelor's Degrees in Social Work and Spanish as well as a Master's Degree in Social Work. She maintains a License as an Independent Mental Health Practitioner, able to diagnose and treat any major mental health disorder, as well as a Certified Master Social Worker, seeing a systems approach to advocate for you and help you achieve your goal. She has nearly 20 years of experience serving the immigration population, having a unique understanding of the challenges immigrants and their families face. She is passionate about working with her clients to help them process their history, identify and understand their patterns, and teach them strategies to help them make changes to improve their quality of life.
Immigration
Ms. Kaipust has traveled and studied abroad, having a good understanding of unique circumstances and cultures that sets her apart as a uniquely qualified individual to understand you and advocate on your behalf. She is fluent in Spanish and has served the immigration population for more than 20 years. She has experience preparing documents for immigration matters such as I-601A Waivers and Cancelation of Removal for nearly 15 years and has testified in immigration court proceedings on several occasions.
Alcohol/Drug Abuse
Ms. Kaipust provides evaluations that will assist in criminal court proceedings as well as identify the treatment that is right for you. She provides on-going outpatient therapy that not only encompasses relapse prevention planning but also assists in identifying the root cause of the alcohol and/or drug abuse in order to address any underlying trauma, poor decision-making patterns, etc.
Trauma/Depression/Anxiety
Ms. Kaipust evaluates and provides treatment for these symptoms and more. With her services, you will feel understood, seen, valued, and empowered.
Probation/Justice System/Court
Ms. Kaipust conducts Chemical Dependency Evaluations and Co-Occurring Evaluations for both adults and youth. These clients may be referred by probation, court, an attorney, or self. The goal is to assess one’s history in areas of: medical, work, education, alcohol, and drug, legal, social, and mental health, with additional information obtained by completion of SASSI questionnaire, ASAM criteria, and collection of collateral information in order to determine a professional recommendation and the correct course of treatment to assist the client in successfully resolving their legal problems if any, develop relapse prevention skills and strategies as well as address any underlying issues for which they may be abusing substances to cope or manage. Ongoing treatment by outpatient services is provided in both English and Spanish.
Angelica Temple, BS in CRCJ, PCMSW, PLMHP
Angelica Temple holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology, as well as a Master’s degree in Social Work. She has a provisional license in mental health with a strong foundation in behavioral work. Angelica focuses on understanding and addressing the mental health aspects that influence behavior. Her professional experience spans working with both juveniles and adults—empowering, advocating for, and guiding individuals as they navigate life’s challenges. Prior to earning her Master’s degree, Angelica gained valuable field experience that continues to inform her practice today. Her background includes extensive training and work in anti-trafficking, Social Work and Family Consulting, as well as specialized trauma-informed care training through Boys Town and Project Harmony. Angelica’s background and bilingual skills allow her to connect with clients from diverse walks of life. She is passionate about helping others thrive mentally, emotionally, and socially, believing that success in these areas leads to holistic well-being. Her clinical training and experience include individual, family, and group therapy, as well as training in non-clinical community-based expressive arts. Angelica’s therapeutic approach is collaborative, focusing on addressing anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, and trauma through compassionate and evidence-based care.
Trauma/Depression/Anxiety
Ms. Temple provides treatment to address symptoms and produce behavioral changes. She will support the client through a process of examining their history and patterns of behaviors. She will establish a safe and comfortable environment with consistency through psychoeducation to understand their trauma, depression, and anxiety. She will collaboratively develop a support plan as well as teach, model, and practice self-management strategies.
Probation/Justice System/Court
Ms. Temple provides treatment in an individual, family, or group setting to clients who are on probation. She will build rapport, establish accountability, and dive into their mental health background to better understand their history and patterns. She will help them restore balance in their school, work, and home life. Angelica will meet the client where they are at mentally and emotionally using a unique client-based approach that is compassionate, supportive, and respectful. She will give them the space to share openly and restore their experience and challenge their perspective to make healthier changes.
Immigration
Ms. Temple offers support to clients looking for guidance in writing their personal statements to assist in immigration cases such as waivers, VAWA cases, etc.
